Re: Datsunboy's KP510 SSS Bluebird coupe
spent my labour day today working on the coupe
First off, I started looking at tuning the carbs, but decided to strip them down, clean them up and do it properly.
Chokes are still sticking a lil bit, but not as much as before......I'll leave them disconnected for now lol.
got them all back together, then used a flow meter I borrowed off Damon to sync them, and then put the wideband O2 sensor on, and adjusted it to as good as I could get it.....then took it for a drive.....pretty good!
it sits at 12.2:1 AFR through the gears when I took it for a blast down the motorway near our place.
and sits at about 15.2:1 AFR at idle.
reason for this was, it was running REALLY rich, and fouling the plugs up on the Akaroa cruise....used almost 3/4 tank haha.
then after that, I put on my new grille I scored off adam (same as my old one, but in MUCH better condition).
then installed my bonnet vents (finally.....Ive had them almost a year....nothing like a 31 Datsun cruise to raise some inspiration!)

tuff....very tuff....
and my thoughts excatley ..nothing like the hard work of others to inspire you to do some yourself..
sitting in the pasengers seat of the cruise all i was thinking about was getting my car onto the next one

Re: Datsunboy's KP510 SSS Bluebird coupe
well, I finally found a Air con pump and bracket for the coupe!
bought it last night from a Z20, and it bolted up sweet as! (I had assumed a Z AC pump would fit an L block)
now I just need to buy a shorter V-belt for it, and get a condensor (AC radiator) and get it piped and gased up!
anyone got any old AC radiators/condesors they dont want?
I have tried a 260C one.....but its too big
