Just want to source a J15 head, to get an idea of costs of getting an old 620 to live again.

You may be in luck..I have a very old J15 at my parents place, hasnt been started in years but the head should still be fine. Ill be down there next weekend to pull it out if you want..20 bucks and its yours if your interested

Got the 620, The head looks alright but the head gasket is in a terrible state. I'll fit a fresh gasket in until the engine transplant. Cheers Lads.

Just replaced the headgasket for the time being. Hoping to get the old WP810 off Mike and transplant the L18 into the 620.

I can tell you from experience your better off doing a chassis conversion with a 720 if your gonna do L18 conversion.
Really easy and better brakes/suspension
Im 3/4 way thru mine and the only bit im finding hard is the wiring which u would have to do anyways with a conversion.
I have not had to fabricate one thing on my 521 to fit it to the 720 chassis
Drill a couple holes here and there and cut some inner guard out
easy peasy
