Nick's 1200 ute
Re: Nick's 1200 ute
you'll need to build a custom gearbox mount for 5 speed, the bellhousings are the same and it all bolts up the same but can be very tight in the tunnel and need a lot of wiggling to get in. The main problem is where the 5 speed reverse light switch comes out of box hits on original 4 speed mounts in tunnel. Can either move mounts and re-weld, or the much easier option and cut down reverse light switch and not have reverse lights (dont need for wof). Have a look on http://www.datsun1200.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; in the tech wiki under 5 speed conversions for pictures of custom crossmembers and a step by step of installation. Also make sure you've got the right length bearing carrier

It is. I made real mess of my undercar when I removed the factroy g/box mounts to fit in my monster gearbox. You'll wanna delete the reversing light switch from the gearbox Before you try and fit it to the car. It's a pretty tight squeeze in there.
They don't call me the man with the rubber arm for nothing you know.............
