Post by datsun120y »

hi i have a datsun 120y just rebuilt the carby and put it all together i started the car up and all the time at idle and on higher revs i get not fully black but greyish smoke is this because of the carby tune or is my piston rings worn it sarts up as soon ass you turn the key all the time i turned the fuel air mixture screw all in then 2 turns out as it said on the rebuild kit instructions any ideas??

also i advanced the timing from 7 deg to 10 deg is this fine if i run 98 octane fuel???

Hows does that car run?
Have you been for a good drive since you done the carbs?
Was it doing this before you rebuild the carbs?

I would definately reccomend trying another carb first before doing anything drastic
