ok.....change of plans.....if you got one for free or to borrow then im still keen......but otherwise now I'm just going to rebuild mine and not buy a new one.

Spent this afternoon with Adam swapping in a spare L14 I had, only to find after lining up the gearbox, that the sump was hitting the crossmember.....so cant be bothered swapping sumps, will just re-build my L16

It's like 20 bolts and a quarter tube of gasket goo to swap a sump. How hard is that? (Or did the refreshments you tried to entice me with begin to take precedents over the job at hand? lol)

the refreshments did run out....lol

You forgot the 4 or 5 litres of new oil too bart.....and the fact I dont have any gasket goo......so may aswell just fit those things when I rebuild my L16 and only have to pay for them once.....ah the life of being broke

The oil you could have reused. If it was clean enough and good enough to use in the first place then surely it wouldn't have minded being put in a clean plastic container for half hour. If you did that even any lumpy shit might sink to the bottom of the container before you put it back in the engine and there's an extra 2000ks between next oil change right there.
