Hey guys.....anyone in chch got a set of vernier calipers, and/or a micrometer I can borrow?

Just need to check a couple things on my engine to decide if it needs the crank ground e.t.c.

Best I help you with that. They aren't realy mine to lend. I'll bring them to work one day this week coming and rock over after I knock off.

I'm sure we can remedy that!
Do you want to measure just the crank, or the pistons as well? I'll bring over my digital verniers, and an easy to read micrometer. Although there is a knack to using micrometers acurately. (not saying have said knack either)

I don't have the gear to measure the bores. Usually you can tell if the bores are worn by a visual inspection. There will be a spec for the pistons in the book. If the ring grooves are too sloppy, or the skirts are excessively worn (or scored with vertical gouges) then they're toast. The downside with datsuns being so awesome is that they will keep on trucking untill the internals are worn beyond reuse. Then they cost lots to repair properly.
