Id' say that baby turbo is on a small diesel engine. One of the loaders at work has one about that size.
And I bet those runners produce some insane bottom end torque!

I did once read that in R&D Jaguar acheived VE's of over 100% (at a given specific RPM) using very long runners. Thats like having forced induction!
Although I'd hazzard as a guess they were very long. If you know anything about hermholtz' formula, you get first, second, third (and so on) harmonics. The longer the runner, the lower number the harmonic. And the stronger the torque.
