Chrome Bumper Bolts

Post by unlimitedpower »

Does anyone know of anywhere that you can still buy the bumper bolts that hold on Datsun bumpers. I tried looking a couple of years back with no luck.
Im sure you all know which ones i mean, The little dome headed chrome things.

Coach bolts? get some stainless ones from fastener supply store, grind off the stampings buff up with soft wire brush, they will look as good as chrome ones* and if they scratch up just pull em off and re-buff them.

*disclaimer: Is dependent on ones patients and ability to polish stuff.
No matter where you go, there you are.

Good plan i never thought of that i'll get some and give it a go, Ive always just been looking for original ones and have had no luck. I figured with the amount of old cars still out there, getting restored etc someone would still make originals.

Really, Excellent means some are still floating around.
Im getting some stainless coach bolts today or tomorrow (when my mate picks them up for me) So i'll give the polishing a try.
But i'll also be on the look out for some nice new bumper bolts to.
