Anyone on here know of a blown up s15 6 speed I can raid the bellhousing off of?
Just after the bell housing to swap onto a different J160 to get better ratios.

Try NZsilvias, or D1NZ forums. Plenty of people there who break stuff.
They don't call me the man with the rubber arm for nothing you know.............

NZDatman: The J160 is an Aisin Gearbox (thats the brand, not asian mistyped haha)
Its used in the s15, rx8, latest mx5 and the altezza.
S15 ones aren't bad but they aren't great. The spacing isn't ideal for an na motor.
They all have there pluses and minuses. If I had my pick i'd get the latest mx5 one. It has the best ratios but i haven't seen one for sale on trademe and I imagine they are expensive. I'll probably run the altezza box on s15 bell housing as they are everywhere and cheap compared to the others (approx $600-700)
Altezza box has a real low first cause the altezza is such a lard ass but all the other gears are nicely spaced getting slightly closer as you go through the gears. So being my 1200 weighs fuck all and has a 4.6 diff 1st will be largely useless but will have a 2-6 real close.
Thanks Bede. Yeah Bart I will probably head over there later I thought i'd try here first
