Re: Datto_610's 180B Engine Bay Painted!
Updates!
Got some gaskets for the turbo manifold today so it can stay on for good. Also been putting things back in the engine bay but its so hard to remember where things go! Got my new Exedy heavy duty cushion button clutch the other day too, its ahh very pink. Hopefully going to do some more work tomorrow or on monday.
I need to find something i can put in this slot so my cowel panel will sit in also need some of these for the cowel panel too, i really should've been more careful when taking things out of the car

Re: Datto_610's 180B Engine Bay Painted!
Looks great, 180b's have great size engine bays for a fairly small car ! Excellent choice of clutch too, good luck with the rest of your build.

Re: Datto_610's 180B Engine Bay Painted!
While some of you guys spent the day relaxing in Hanmer i was hard at it in the garage trying to get the 180 ready for Akaroa. Managed to get heaps done today which is good, motor will be ready to go back in very soon!
Heres some pics of what i got done today:
Assembled my front lower control arms with new ball joints and nolathane bushes, also zinc plated the steering knuckle to make it look flash
All brand new tie rods, also re-coated the shaft that goes between them
Got new steering idler arm bushes yesterday just need to get the joint re-built and it can go back in the car.
Bolted arms back in, did a quick measure up as i had to slot the crossmember quite a bit so the mounting bolts would sit in properly. Was all good so bolted up the castor rods too.
Gave the steering box and drag link a quick tidy up with a coat of paint. Its back in the car now just a got a few nuts and bolts to re-coat and ill have another pic soon.
Tried to assemble my headlights too, but they dont seem to want to sit flat in the bracket they are supposed to sit in. Anyone know the trick with these?
Might have a go at putting in some more brake lines and brackets tomorrow before the engine goes back in for good.

Shotgun a ride in this at Akaroa if you get it there since I won't have my one this year!
