620,i would be QUITE concerned about cracking, bung optional, but that crack..youll never get a warrant like that.
Yeah Bert, S.U's from a datto friendly chap called Grant up north. They are quite tidy, took to them with degreaser a bit, made some gaskets n darkied them up to suit. Head may get treatment but not for a while aye. No airbox, ill have a scout around for an appropriate filtration system/cheesecloth.
I just caved into daily driver-but-half-reliable-and-cheapishness, so no traditional sidedraughts anymore...they were so sweet

Do they run good?
I have a mate who'd dad is pretty sharp at tickling them up. He did the SU's on my L series sunny coupe I once owned. Went from being a complete piece of shit into possibly one of the sweetest running Datto's I've ever owned. It was amazing on gas too when driven nicely. Right before I sold it I drove it around for a week or so, and I could not believe how little gas it consumed. (When the boot wasn't right up it that is)

No Don't do it that is a bit of Kiwi motoring History right there, don't cut that up to fit. I just got some uni filter material from a Bike shop and made up some sox, they work fine on mine. I'll modify a 240z filter in time, but it's nice having some protection there for the engine.
Do you have the Ram Tubes for the carbs, I can't verify this but am told they make then go harder!

Fuggin been hit twice since re-painting the car, not so impressed with my luck/complete opposite of luck with this datsun.
Now i really REALLY need a rear bumper, as a Prado just tore the endcap off on its way to pushing in the rear quarter
