Tried texting a couple of you guys, but I don't think it's working with my US-spec phone.
Re: Visiting NZ from the US
If you are driving from Napier to Taupo you will most likely go through Taupo, so feel free to drop in if you like. 021 659530. or pm me. don't get on the site that often though so better to ring or txt.

I'm staying in Taupo saturday night. I'll try to call when I get into town.

driving from Napier to Auckland meant to say.
yeah sounds good I'm in Rotorua tomorrow but shouldn'e be too late back. Sunday would be good for a catch up? Depending on which way you head up the island I'm about 20km north of Taupo on the was to Rotorua, so you could carry on north from there if that's your plan on sunday.
home phone is 07 3337024

Thats too bad, I almost booked a room in Rotorua. Hopefully we can still catch up.
I'll wait to ring the other guys until either later tonight, or tomorrow. I don't know who works today, and what their hours are.

Re: Visiting NZ from the US
Just wanted to say thanks to Shane, Craig, Morgan, and..........was it Rob? Anyways, these guys were very hospitable, and kind enough to show me around, and show me their Datto's. Made my trip here that much more enjoyable. Hopefully we can keep in touch, and maybe I can come back to visit another time. I started in Wellington, then up to Palmy, up to Napier, over to Taupo, up to Rotorua, and finally ended in Auckland. I think that's a good bit of the north island. You guys are really lucky, New Zealand is such a great place! Thanks again guys!
I kept drooling over all of the early Mitsubishi EVO's, the Skylines, and other various cars we don't get back in the US. Man, if we were able to register imported cars under 25 years old, I'd be filing up a container of them to take with me. Hmmm, a DR30 Skyline would fit in the "over-25-years-old" category, maybe we can find me one of those to take home!

Your welcome mate was awesome to meet you and show you around not to mention we were both lucky enough to get chauffeured around by Shane in his mint 1600 show piece. See you next time when you come back for a holiday

Most of those cars will be over 25 in a few years time.
If you ever do come back, be sure to make it coincide with our big meet in late october.

Re: Visiting NZ from the US
you're welcome. was good to meet you and talk datsuns for a while. it's a shame you didn't have more time, but there's always next time! talking about filling containers I'm sure a few NZ members would be thinking of doing the same things from the US, and after seeing Robs 280zx and now yours, I'm getting tempted to import a turbo and manifold for my old girl, along with the z31 ecu and loom....
