Re: Braasy's Datsun 1200 (B110) 4 Door Sedan
Rust repair/maintenance is a go! **UPDATE #4**
Left rear wheel arch/flare has been reshaped (adding a little more shape to it to smooth it into the body better). Sealer has also been cut out of the seam where the two panels join in the centre of the wheel arch. This has been opened up and filled with rust converter to prevent any future corrosion in that area.
When tail light was removed the other week, was found to have been been glued in with a lot of silicone (to stop it leaking presumably). Advised although silicone is a good sealer, it's never used in automotive body work because it reacts with the painting process, and can cause major problems (wasn't me!). Thankfully, mush was kind enough to make and install a sponge rubber gasket when re-installing the tail light (to seal it againt the body). Will look to glue the tail lights in with a urethane sealer once vehicle has been painted. Have asked this process be repeated for the other tail light, so that it matches and in case the same problem is apparent.
Photo updates are as follows:
Further updates to come, but that's it for the bulk updates for now (won't let it back up like that again!) Still to post engine rebuild update/pics. Stay tuned!
