Its in the blood, Retro family Datsuns once owned

Post by Flauski »

I have seen a few people put up posts of their parents , grandparents etc with the old Dattos they owned back in the day.

Can't find one post with them all so perhaps this could kick one off. Post your pic, spin the yarn.

FINALLY found a picture of my Grandads 1600, with my old man looking like a typical 70's goof (thats him on the right!) and my Aunty pretending they know how to fish.

Awesome, but plates have gone and not linked to anything anymore :(

Same, my Dad had a Valiant with a 318 as his pride and joy, the 1600 was his Dads' car :)

Spoke with old man about the 1600 he said it was quick and that he could get 80km/h in second gear in it, I said "did Grandad know you thrashed his car?" and his reply was "yeah he showed me how to do it first!" haha!

I'm somewhat embarrassed that my mum has had more Datsuns than me, she's had two 1200s and two (at least) Sunnys. Oh, and my old man used to sell Datsuns new years ago.

My family use to own a wrecking yard...the ol'man tells me how old school models were really good for crushing, my unlce tells us of a punch up before they opened the doors one day over a RX3 they had for sale, I wish I appreciated the cars then but theres no photos of the place anywhere
