140js have the mid sump same as 180b etc so it goes straight in
1973 Datsun 140j, Completed project
2x1972 Datsun 1200 B110 Coupe

It is my understanding that the only real difference between the flat top and round top 4 cylinder Hitachis is that the flat tops are set up with some emissions stuff on them. If you remove the emissions gear then they are apparently just as good as the round top carbs.
This does not apply to the flat tops used on the six cylinder carbs though (apparently they are actually just average to poor).

My understanding too Mike, so don't be put off Flat top ones. (Unless of course you go for the L20(A) option. Lol)

i found an l20b with 5 speed on trade me for $600 start price, im soooo keen, its out of a 910 sss bluebird

need to find money gaarrrr,

ok in other news, i was at a small hot rod show on sunday parked up all alone no cars next to me, came back to the car to find the damage in the pics below, not a very happy chappy, im getting the whole car repainted, so the paint isnt a major but the door has a ripple in it now. grrrr didnt see who it was or the vehicle and they didnt bother to leave any details,

hell yea pissed me off soooo bad. but got me looking at the car and the extent of the body work needed haha,

i want it dentless eventually but for now its still good. might just go for a quick derust and paint tidy up,

eventually ill get a mate to mix some paint up. im think a light blue with a violet pearl

yea im gonna try buff it out this weekend and have a chat with a panel beater about cutting the rust out. ive never done panel work before so im gonna leave the rust to the pros
