you sure you havent got the high/low beam and high beam "buckets" mixed up? i had to swap the outer buckets left to right to run euro halogen lights in mine as they had the same issue as you...Datto_610 wrote:Tried to assemble my headlights too, but they dont seem to want to sit flat in the bracket they are supposed to sit in. Anyone know the trick with these?

Re: Datto_610's 180B Currently going back together
Bit of an update, bought a shortnose R200 LSD last week that had the 3x2 inputs, the LSD center i got off James(85_Z31) had the 5x1 input shafts so after a long long search i finally managed to score a whole diff cheap and only wanted the inputs. Also bought new carrier bearings for the diff today, and they wern't cheap but oh well you do what you gotta do. My idler arm is currently at HBI engineering getting re cond should get that back on wednesday. More money i dont want to spend..... Anyway heres some pics!

Did you sort your headlight mounting out?
The headlights have a tab that locates in the bucket so the headlight mounts in only one position to get the correct beam pattern alignment.

More updates! I've been on a roll this week
Got my idler arm back from Hbi engineering, fitted it as soon as i got home. Also have all my tie rods in so steering is complete However... the alignment is waaaaay out as in im pretty sure the front wheels will be pointing in opposite directions. I measured where the old tie rods were before taking them off but must have stuffed it up when fitting the new ones, will have to sort it out soon. Also my brand new clutch master arrived today got it cheap on e-bay, its a direct replacement for 510,610 etc. Cant seem to get them new here anymore. Fitted brake lines in the engine bay before motor goes back in so glad i did this first as it was a prick of a job even without the motor in the way! So the engine bay is looking pretty swish so far
Gearbox will be coming out this weekend, just need to suss out a engine hoist, a torque wrench and a clutch alignment tool and the motor will be back in
