Hi,
I wish to turbo my LD28 C32 Laurel, probabley with the L20et exhaust manifold + turbo.
But I'm quite clueless and need to know what other mods I need for it to run smoothly?
Change timing and fuel pump I would think? Anything else?
Any help be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Turboing the LD28
I think DJZ has a mate who has done this.
With a bit of luck, he'll chime in.

They don't call me the man with the rubber arm for nothing you know.............
Re: Turboing the LD28
I don't know much about diesels but lots of people just whack on a turbo and crank up the fuel I think. My mate spent quite a bit of time on his one and worked with a guy that had modified a few before.
They modified the fuel pump with some sort of boost compensation valve or something like that from an LD20 turbo pump, a mark one not a mark two I think, the one more like an LD28.
The main thing he was warned about was not to use an L20et manifold as the back cylinders don't flow well enough and they get too hot. He used an NA exhaust manifold with a j pipe thing I had, I think it was from an old HKS turbo kit for the L28, wouldn't be too hard to make one though.
Take all this with a grain of salt, I'm working from memory and it's been a year since I talked to him about it last.
