Hi all,
Looking at selling my 1500cc 1981 Datsun Sunny Coupe, very reliable and in brilliant condition inside and out.
I'm out of town at present so will add more details on request but here's what i've got off the top of my head:
-1500cc engine.
-5 speed manual.
-Had body completely stripped back, all rust cut out and a respray only 4 months ago (cost almost what i'm selling for).
-Interior in great nick, upholstery all mint condition.
-Had a Sony stereo installed in the glove box, other than this the car is completely ORIGINAL.
-Low k's - think approx 117,000 (will double check).
Engine runs very nicely and always starts no problem, gives off a bit of smoke on a cold morning.
Clutch release bearing makes a bit of noise but not in need of replacing yet.
Car is currently in Dunedin, but will be relocated to Auckland in 3-4 weeks if not sold before then (did this trip only a few months ago with no problems).
I'll put a new WOF and REG on when sold.
Car doesn't NEED to be sold, but looking for around 5K to go towards a 260z i've got my eye on
Cheers, Tim.

Its quite expensive, Im not saying its not worth it but im not saying it is worth it. Datsun sunny prices have been all over the show lately.
There was a nice round headlight on on TM for 5k for most of the year...not sure if it sold

I have the same problem with my 260Z. Money being tied up in another car
Re: 1981 Datsun Sunny Coupe 1.5L
Yea I understand where you're coming from. I've come to the conclusion that Datsun enthusiasts won't pay as much for a datto as just the average John Doe because they value the potential of what they can do to the car much higher than the value of the car itself. So while it may seem expensive to the folks on here it might be worth it elsewhere. Especially one as unmolested as this. But in saying that, I've got an element of flexibiliity attached to the price..I'm not quite as much the dreamer as I may seem! Price REDUCED to any offers you think are reasonable.
Need to sell, just bought a new car and have no money to pay for it!!!!
I will be driving it up the country in 1 week so could be delivery to your door step with me finding another way home.

At this stage I will be in Chch late Sunday evening for the night, and was planning to catch the interislander ferry late Monday evening. Would that suit you to have a look?
