EOI - Stearing box bearings

Post by gingofthesouth »

Hi all,
After a huge amount of effort I have found the ultra rear bearis used in the Datsun 510 and similar (180b etc) stearing boxes.

I need to order 10 bearings before NSK will import me some from Thailand lol.

Who needs a set besides me and Brendon?

(2 bearings per steering box)

What are they going to cost? Would you have the part number handy?

These are the part numbers i have come up with or rebuilding the steering box:

Bearings w/cup
NTN - SF0454
NSK - VTAA19Z-3
Nissan - 48190-21000

Sector shaft oil seal Part#
PHLE - AE1244N TC 24 35 7
NDK - 48137-16500
Nissan - 48137-16500

Worm gear oil seal
NDK - 7890 485 48029-04100
Nissan - 48029-04100.

After researching and ringing every bearing place in NZ, Tony from Wilson Brothers Bearings in Nelson (where I live) spent a couple hours for me looking for some and finally got NSK NZ to find some for me.
They found some in Thailand (showing stock of over 100 bearings). They can not just get a stock transfer apparently, they have to ask to buy them lol.

Anyhow, Tony told them I would be looking at about 10 (which is what I said I could stretch too as I need two and my mate wants a pair too). The price Tony told me for them was ~$12NZD each plus shipping. Shipping from Thailand NSK NZ said would be expensive.

So ~$12NZD plus freight split between however many bearings we get.

Same here please, always nice to have a spare set handy. Looks like you've made your minimum order without a problem.
