Went to chirstchurch in the weekend, well almost got there anyway. Picked up my l16 in dunedin on the way through and also picked up my stumpy dogleg box which i am going to be running in it.

Got the motor home and started stripping it down, drained about 6 litres of oil out of it for a start lol, at least it wasn't dry i geuss. Head is pretty mint so im going to put that away and use my modified one. The motor has oviously been re-built previously at some point because it had after market rod bolts that were actually smaller than factory? and aftermarket acl bearings which were standard size so thats good. Also the big end bearing caps had dips in them which i have never seen before and would like to no what they are for if anyone knows, i'll put a pic below.

Also the small plate at the front of the crank, by the keyway and real munted up, im keen to know how this happens :?

bores got a few marks in it and a tiny wee lip, but that should hoan out hopefully.

also my new clutch kit turned up thanks to scott at cockrams, lined it up on my lightened and re-surfaced flywheel and its mint. Just got to make some deasent power to put through it now haha

Not sure if the oil seal slinger is the same on the L16 to the L24, chances are they are, there is a new one on Trademe pretty reasonable.
Looking good, liking the 1200 too.

Engines looking better than when I saw it, good deal. The wee plate has most likely been mangled by someone not knowing fully how to get them off/impatient (im guilty of that!)
