Mid winter, but it's not a long weekend.
Queens birthday is at queens birthday. But the weather is always so shit that weekend, and half the roads we used to roll on for this cruise have closed for earthquake damage. (possibley permanantly)
So it's going to need a major overhaul.

Maybe try and work in for the rakaia cruise. Once the committee has been elected, we'll meet and choose a date. Thats a pretty epic cruise.

I think with your oldschool background, the Hanmer cruise would be best suited to your tastes
