Sounds good. I'm heading up to Nelson on the 5th of Jan, back @ work on the 9th also, so maybe we could do a day trip on either the 3rd or 4th, or even an overnighter. Can you recommend any nice accommodation in Timmas?Kitch wrote:Sounds good.

Nice play to stay is "El Rancho Kitching" the BBQ is running good that time of year, and Heineken flows freely....
And a nice "project" in garage we can pine over
(Got plenty of spare rooms here at my pad, have at least one guest room available, thats not full of car parts....)

SOLD! I like BBQ's, Heineken (will bring/buy some too), projects and pining!! XD I'd have my +1 (Ruth) if that's a deal breaker? And I have no issues with a room full of parts, as long as they were Datsun onlyKitch wrote:Nice play to stay is "El Rancho Kitching" the BBQ is running good that time of year, and Heineken flows freely....

Wicked! And good news is, the 1200 is definitely a go!! Damon, Ruth and I took her out for a hoon round the back of the airport last night (Damon was in charge, so you know she got a good thrashing). Without being fully tuned, she started well. Boy she's got some get up and go for a 40 year old car!!! Proper start up video on its way...

Con-grat-u-fuk-n-la-tions!
Bout bloody time!!! thought I was gonna have the coupe on the road before you a while back
BTW you meant to say 40 year old car ah??!
Amazing how much fun and how fast a worked A series feels!
It ain't no DOHC turbo efi beast, but by god they are way more fun to drive in a "retro" cool kind of way! the feeling you had last night, is the same one I have when I am in an A series; which stops me ever doing a repower / conversion in a 110 they are just way more fun with a lightweight push rod A series IMO, thats how they are meant to be!!! (each to their own of course no offence to you guys with your CA's / FJ's / SR's / Z's)

Re: Braasy's Datsun 1200 (B110) 4 Door Sedan
Howdy folks,
So yesterday was the big day. Excitement was high and the day dragged on. Finally work was over, and I was off to Damons. As per a previous post, the starter was munted. A new one was sourced, and we were close...
Starter motor is in. A few minor tweaks (and some added snaps for good measure)...
Now, we're ready for her first real start (ignore the minor water spurt, it was spotted soon after)...
FIRST ENGINE RUN VIDEO
And some quick exhaust noise clips...
EXHAUST NOISE VIDEO #1
EXHAUST NOISE VIDEO #2
Now after some timing adjustment, and we're geared for take off (please excuse the ignorant female comments hehe)...
QUICK SPIN VIDEO
She's not all tuned, but timing is looking pretty good. Tappets need some minor adjustment, but I think I did a pretty good job for a first timer Time for some petrol and a test drive The test drive video is like 30 minutes long and approximately 700MB in size, so will attempt to chop it up and upload to You Tube for those that are keen.
A few images afterwards, the paint already peeling off the headers lol No worries, down the track I will get them ceramic coated, once I'm ready to finish everything
With the first test run complete, I can say without a doubt that I am indeed a happy chappy XD Next step, WOF, Reg, some carb air filters, and a working indicator stalk so I can legally turn left XD
Well, that's all for now. Car will hopefully be all go and legal this Saturday. See you guys on the roads soon and into the New Year!
