Just bought this on the weekend to do up as a cafe racer (so the 410 can tow it around )
It is a 1976 Yamaha RD 50. Plan is for full respray (so strip right back to frame), clubman style handlebars and a bucket racer style seat. Apart from that other minor cosmetic changes and a few slight mechanical upgrades.
Thought somebody might be interested. Hope the idea of a two wheeler isn't too offensive on these forums.

You should restore it to original , probably be worth a bit to the right buyer.

Just got back from San Fran so starting to get into this. I seem to choose the projects that are as difficult in terms of acquiring parts as anything else... Just starting to source bits to get the electrics sorted.

Spent a little while on this through the glorious summer. Decided I need to get something running, so splashed some paint on and got this back together
Still needs front brakes, indicators and some electrics cleaned up but it goes...

The bug has bit me too. I wanted an oldschool bike but did not want to spend 10K on a harley.
I have gone and purchased a Royal Enfield Bullet 1998 spec. Can still get parts new which is the best thing.
Same bike has been produced since the 50's.
Aint the fastest, but love the look and sound. Here is what mine will look like eventually:
Mine needs a bit of work. Just need to get me the springer seat and respray the tank/guards etc.
Thinking might do a military spec paint job or else gloss black.
