Still quite a cool looking wheel. Come with new tyres too. Not after much

Hi, you may be interested in my spare set of wheels?

14x6” Takechi Hart Projects (By Hayashi) extremely tidy, just need a polish up, 195/60/14 tyres (rubber is pretty perished) got all 4 centre caps too. Can't recall offset, will have to check, but they are not too aggressive.

So long time no update, but panneling is all finished! all pannels are bolted on and lined up and as of yesterday afternoon the car is now sitting in bodylines paint shop ready for paint. Soo pleased since it's been over 1.5years since i first gutted it out.

Told the painter that i was in no rush for it and if he found any dints or inperfections to either fix them or call me, though he wouldn't give me a price untill he had blocked it back and sprayed it in 2k filler primer

So overall hoping for a pretty mint job.

On other news have installed my camber plates to struts so new front suspention can go in when ti comes back, just need to take them in to get the top hat bolts rattle guned up, coz i don't have a 24mm socket.

Upholster rung me on thusday and said my interier parts are ready to be picked up :highfive:

So pretty happy with how things are going, now just have to build the engine, have the new head half ported so hopefully should be finished this week so i can send it away for valve grind and pressure test etc.

Lang Inder wrote:So this is my 1973 140j that i bought about 6 months ago, needs quite abit of work but it will get there and it will look good when its done, see below for the plans for it.

Mar 10 to Sep 10 027.jpg
Mar 10 to Sep 10 028.jpg
Mar 10 to Sep 10 030.jpg
So straight away i got into stripping it all out carefully and removing the engine untill it was just a bare shell. Then i sanded all the doors, boot and roof back to bare steel and got around the outsides of them all sandblasted then fully primed. Then the whole car was off to the sandblasters to clean it all up and see what rust we could find, then get the whole shell primed so it started to look abit better.

So now we are spending the next five months fullly pannel beating the car up to a good standard before it gets repainted in the factory cream colour.
The car came with the factory L14 with matching numbers but later found it had burnt valves, and saw no point of rebuilding it yet. So the cars getting a tidy L18 with the V912 sss head on it with the bigger ports. It's getting a cam ground by kelfords, lightened flywheel, 9 inch clutch, new coby extractors and twin SU Carbs. Not to many other big plans for the car, some good suspention and some 17x7s. Overall just make it a really good, tidy, reliable car. Any imput on ideas for the car would be good.

dash all done.jpg
Dash all re-done by me, complete with recovered dash pad, re-sprayed dash top, 160j sss dash cluster with rev counter, re-built clock, new fm radio, new speaker and two preformance racing gauges.
struts.jpg
Front suspention done: HR30 skyline front struts re painted with re-done inserts, super-low cobra's, new strut boots, r31 skyline rotors and brakes. Rear suspention not to many plans, factory shocks were good condition so i'm just going to use them with some 2" cobra lowering blocks.

Will keep updated with progress.
Nice work.

Got top hats rattle guned up so front suspention s all good to go

Picked my interier up and it looks mint, will put pics up when i re-assemble the seats

Finished porting my head and dropped it of at pro-build today for:

Pressure test, Mill both sides of head (30 thou of base), 3 angle valve grind, and a acid dip =around $350 all up including gst

Got new inlet valves from the states which are ment to be oversize but i don't think they are, and got the new exhaust valves from sta parts

Hope to send the cam away for a grind and order the race springs in the next couple of weeks so i can finish the head off
