Hi!
I am Raphaël, I live in France... So sorry for my english...
But, it's a good way to learn!
Anyway... I have a 260c (330) Datsun of 1977 and I registered here for more info. (yes, because we are two to have this model in France with the "L" motors!)
Me (black) and a green...
Otherwise, there are some 220c (LD22 diesel).
I am also registered on "Team Go On" and "Datsun-France".
Here are somes pictures of my 260c :
In fact, I would like him to put nice rims, but I do not know the maximum offset?
I'd also put a meter of Gloria... Only findable in Japan (Yahoo Auction) but I have no correspondent there...
Thanks!

Hi there - Welcome to the club.
If you want to go as low as the Gloria you want use Holden HQ super low front springs (king springs seem to be the choice) and HQ shocks - then measure your sill heights and have you rear leaves reset to get the perfect height (around 3 inches i think)
Over here we take them out and take them to our local spring shop and have them reset by a spring engineer / maker (blacksmith). I dont know where you guys would need to go.
Gives you an idea anyway,
We are all here for help / advice if you need it
Also what other models of datsun are common in your country

I ride a lot with my 260c, must be something fairly comfortable.
Maybe something in this kind there (but with 15" rims)? in order to maintain flexibility?

Leaves reset? Everything is original.
Here are somes pictures, if this can help you (sorry, the pictures are a little blurry) :

There are mostly Z/ZX, other datsun are rarer, but there are still some 100a/180b/120y/140y/... There are also some Roadster.brocky41 wrote:Also what other models of datsun are common in your country

Heres a pic of what reset leaves look like - the top springs have been reset lower (flatter / less curved). the bottom ones are standard.
This will drop the body of the car - if you have them reset by 3 inches then the body will be 3 inches closer to the tyre like this one.

This car still drove / rode very well and still had alot of "flexability" or not to stiff ride.
Hope this helps

Thank you for your help Brocky41.
My leaf spring similar to the first, on the picture. But the brackets are the other way :
In fact, I not really looking at the lowered but to be able to put wider wheels without risk that it touches the wings.
To have something like this :
But I do not know if this configuration, if the car will remain comfortable enough to make the road? Obviously I'm not against some stiff, on the contrary!
And if really too uncomfortable, then maybe a configuration like the black coupe ?
So what should he do to get the same thing as the brown?
I read that:
Thanks!

KYB gas shocks ?cul8r wrote:Come midday friday (14/10/11) I found it passed, so Brock hunted through the catalouges, ordered up 4x Shorter KYB gas shocks. I ordered the front springs, bought the Reset leaves off brock he'd got from Jon..
Sunday (16/10/11) I set about doing the rear leaves and shocks. Popped my wheels on I'd had made up - damned rubbing, porta power was on hand to pump the guards. Fairly well clearanced now - will fix properly at a later date.
Monday (17/10/11) Car was fully legal, registered - recomplied & wof'd. Springs arrived, so after work saw the front lowered & guards pumped. Wheel aligned on Thursday at work..
Wheels are 15x8 nascar D windows, which've had the centers moved 1" (royce clive engineering), re-powder coated (action powder coating), tyres (through work 205/55r15 Bridgestone RE002) had to be seated using flames (have video)
Thanks!

I now own this car an the set up is fine in regards to stiffness (in my opinion) like Cul8r said for a whale it handles remarkably well
