Do you want a classic looking wheel or something more modern looking?
I have to agree too I think those wheels are way too bland.
I kind of think your car would suit steels too. I reckon it would look tits with some steels and wide white walls. Almost bid american sled style

I realy like the look of this datto, Its running 14 inch ssr mesh wheels. I think i can find some in 15 or 16 inch.
The 99 car had a 3 litre engine and was the 5th fastest car around the tsukuba that year. it was sponsored by a taxi company!
some fat 14 inch rims!

Re: 1968 G130 super six
EF falcon steelies as instructed! Offset is perfect!
Also did some work on the steering. Made some brackets that hold the rack and bolt to the original steering box mounts Just need to trim up the datsun steering column and weld it to the barina electric motor N14 brake booster fits perfectly
Unfortunatley, They fit perfectly over the 2 pot nissan Q45 calipers, but, the calipers wont fit on the stub axles without seriously interfering with the subframe at anything more than half a turn on the steering wheel. The back of the caliper is massive compared to the gtr caliper
If i run the gtr 4 pots i will need 16 inch wheels
I will need to disappear the red area from the subframe to get full lock but it should be right

Re: 1968 G130 super six
Unfortunatley the caliper hits too much. even if i chop heaps out of the spring bracket it wont fit.
That means i have to run the axles on the correct side and make some new steering arms.
I have made a prototype arm that despite its dodgy looks, works well. Ill take it back to nz with me in feb and get 2 machined out of billet. I can also now run the 2 pot v8 caliper so today i spent a few hours going round the various auto supplies places in Mackay getting blank looks from everybody when i explained i needed a disc the same offset, centre hole size, and stud pattern as toyota hilux, but with 280mm diameter. It seems nobody in this country can think outside of the box......
In the end a very helpful lady let me peruse the dba catalog and i have a set of nissan x-trail discs on their way.
Bump steer measurements and maybe sump completion tomorrow!

Re: 1968 G130 super six
Finally made up my mind and decided to run the v8 2 pot calipers. They bolt to the stub axles and can fit a 28x280mm disc. The hilux hubs im using have the disc mounted to the back of them and they are only 257mm standard.
A couple of hours research and i got a set of x-trail discs
I got the centre machined out to 84mm and another set of holes drilled and tapped to fit the hilux hubs They look pretty good and should pull it up pretty well. Plus the 15inch steelies just fit over them
Done some work on the steering too.
Reinforced the pedal box and welded some brackets to it for the power steering unit. I had to die grind a fair bit of spare casting from the block for clearance. Just need to make a plate to block off the hole in the firewall.
No more work for 6 weeks. back to the mines then a few weeks in nz.
When i return, i have another super six i have found in victoria. Only 3000kms away!

Re: 1968 G130 super six
Started on engine mounts version 3! The ones i currently have are too soft and the motor can move too much causing the headers, steering, and head to hit various parts of the car.....
I bought a pair of suspension bushes from some kind of holden at supercheap that looked like they will do the trick and cut the rubber in half
high tech press
pretty close to what its replacing.
perfect
Just with the right side done it is much stiffer. I will do the left side when i have soem more free time

Keep the updates coming! can you close your bonnet with the VH in?I love the idea of electric power steering, something I wish I'd known about when I did mine. Are the Barina systems easy to control?I know a mate of mine was having a few issues getting a suzuki system to do what he wanted
