Re: r200 oil seals?
I think I got mine from Wilson bros.
Although the facroy ones had an extra wee lip (To help keep shit out?) that the replacement ones didn't.
You could perhaps PM birdflu (Scott) and see how much brand new genuine ones are?

Re: r200 oil seals?
I just measured the ID / OD and thickness and used a standard oil seal
never a drop of oil has come out of mine.

Re: r200 oil seals?
Sweet thanks guys, Will go into wilson bros tomorrow as they are close to where i am..
Have you guys got any information on install a mechanical lsd centre into a the r200 longnose casing?
i don't think it as is simple as putting in the centre with the shims and tighting it up?
i think the crown and pinion should be properly meshed etc can anybody confirm this or tell me its bullshit?
Thanks

Re: r200 oil seals?
If you have the tools and time you can do it yourself, but if you need any shims etc etc it can get difficult, with my two I just paid $50 for one and $80 for the other I think it was to get them set up professionally.
What kind of mechanical centre have you got?

it was a total PITA, but i can run you through it and also send you some documentation that helped me out.
it is a very involved process I had to purchase shim stock and expermint for days to get it right. I also had the diff apart and re assembled about 15 times.
EDIT > Read this untill you Really Understand it well http://xenonz31.com/files/Z31%20R200%20 ... lip%29.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
While you are at wilson bro's i reccomend getting a packet of 150mm x 150mm Shim stock so that you can teak things by the right amount.
You Will need
Dial Gauge
Inch Pound Torque Wrench ( dial type not clicker type)
Shim Stock ( and something to cut it up with )
Assorted Nissan R200 Diff Shims ( pillage from broken or exploded open diffs )
Calculator , Pad & Pen
R200 Service manual ( see link above )
If i had to summarize the process it would be as follows
1. Take a preload Reading at the pinion nut before you tear the diff apart , it should be somewhere between 10 to 20 inch pounds.
( If it is way under then all your bearings are worn and need replaced or shimmed for more preload )
2. Take a backlash reading you need to be between something like 0.12 and 0.18mm
3. Install the new LSD in place of the open center using the same bearings.
4. Take all the same measurements ( see manual for how to do them )
5.shim the side bearings untill you get the backlash to the same amound as what you started with , ie if you started with 0.16 then you need to get back to 0.16mm to get the mesh and contact pattern correct
6.when backlash is correct take preload readings at pinion nut ( make sure it torqued up to 100nm or whatever the manual says )
7. If total preload is in spec, you are done, take your readings one more time to be sure then move on to the gear mesh pattern check.
8. If gear mesh comes out correctly you can road test it
thats the short version, i did mine like that and it came out perfect, i have no diff clunks or bangs in my R200 LSD

Re: r200 oil seals?
Woah, Thats alot for the help!. I think i might take the easier route and get somebody with the gear to do it.
I pulled all the oil seals out tonight so going to replace them and take it all down to the mechanic who is going to put it all together hopefully
Also does anybody know where to buy the stub axle nuts from? The ones that are stuffed once you undo them

Re: r200 oil seals?
You can just fit the LSD nugget pretty easy.
I bolted my longnose crownwheel to a VLSD nugget (With the held of a set of crowheel bolt spacer bushes) and just slammed it back in the diff housing with the three big preload packers back where they came from.
Blued it up, and it was close enough for govt work.
