Run Fault Codes

Test the offending sensor as per the Nissan FSM ( I don't have a Terrano one but i can send you an fsm from a Z31 VG30 )

fix / replace sensors if required

( it sounds like a bad Cylinder head temp sensor ) the ECU wont see that it has warmed up and will be running it rich from the cold start enrichment map.

Does it actually run rough and miss and fart around or does it simply use heaps of fuel ?
Does it have good power and driveabilty or run like a total sack ?

Don't forget to look at spark plugs, they should be sopping wet for that sort of fuel useage
The Answer to your Question is NEEDS MORE VG30

cylinder head temp sensor sounds like it could be the problem, the temp gauge is comming up alot further than it did with the old thermostat but still not to the centre.

It just simply uses heaps of fuel, it doesn't run rough or miss or anything. It has good driveabilty and it seems to have decent power (its the first vg30 vehical i've driven though)

The truck is booked in to go on the tuning scope tomorrow mourning, but i might go get a thermostat sensor first

Hey Lang keeping a eye on this as i have a vg30 powered homy. It was no worse on fuel than our 2 litre homy towing at first but now drinks it also. The boys did a fuel test on one of the touring stages at a rally we did where we had a fuel stop between two stages because of a long touring after last stage. The rally car(subaru 4wd ) 5 litres the van used 11 litres . This is even when driving super gentle.

How did you get on with this?
Was it that sensor?

Replaced the temp sensor and the gauge now comes to the middle,
Had the truck put on an exhaust sensor and the machine said it's running correctly?
Had the scoping machine test the coolent sensor and it;s fine.

Still i think there's something wrong with it as when its idling there is a strong petrol smell comming from the truck, and $60 is getting my like 130km driving easy as.

Is it the oxygen sensor? Have heard these only last about 60000k's and can cause excess fuel usage if they are not working correctly.

Yeah just had the oxygen sensor replaced a couple of weeks ago, the old one was defently stuffed but it didn't really change the fuel economy.
