Firstly to those whinging pricks outing other members for running without certs should fuck off....people like you have no place in forums or clubs if your going to piss and moan..it's a public forum for fucks sake and as has been said many times before , you never know who may read this !!! Now onto the certing issue if you guys reread the info release a certifier may cert a car with more camber if it in his opinion meets all the relevent criteria. Now I have been around cars a long time and when I started got to enjoy the freedom of building anything and running it on the road including manic V8 and rotary powered 1200s and no one ever questioned my abilities to do it. If it met the WOF requirements it was good to go!! . Those days are truly long gone..It is no ones fault it came about because the people entrusted to test cars for WOFs were not universally qualified to determine if a modified car was actually safe. The LVVTA was formed and as a result we can still modify and build cars from scratch and legally use them on the road.. The rules regarding certs are constantly being revised by people who are car nuts as well...not government pawns, they are working on our/your behalf to allow us to continue to enjoy our cars. If the LVVTA hadn't been formed 20 years ago things would really be tough now..

:agree: +1

At least we can still put V8's etc in our 1200's or other "way too smaller car for the engine" type scenarios, otherwise we'd all be running around in standard only cars.

Im all for the cert process constantly being updated, just as long as they dont get all aussie on it and restrict every little detail.

Yep...Aussies have had a rude awakening in the last 12 months regarding modded cars. They considered it an Aussie institution and did nothing to organise or protect themselves. It gets more difficult for them having different in rules in their various States so having a nationally recognized system is now going to be very difficult to create and have accepted. Aussie's can't even drive their hot rods fender less and just parking them on display with out guards can earn you a fine..Also their laws changed regarding importation of modified vehicles and now it is very tough to get a muscle car or rod into the country. You have to be pre approved and wade though a pile of red tape. NZ really has it good.. I know if your 20 odd and have fuck all money it all seems really frustrating but believe me it could be a lot worse...

Agreed!
We our very lucky here in New Zealand to still be able to flex our kiwi ingenuity and build cars unqualified in our garages and create masterpeices.
Im looking forward to the certification process when my time comes
