L24 wanted - upper north island area

Post by mark105 »

Im after a L24 block to build my next engine for the 240k. As long as it is rebuild-able it will be fine as it is going off to the engine builders to be combined with my N42 head. Basicly just need a short block but will take what ever. Chur.

You know a N42 head has large valves for the 400 extra cc. As a result of this you need to notch the top of the P30 aka L24/L26 blocks to give the valve clearances as they only have a 83mm bore vs the L28 86mm bore.

I know of a complete L24 head/block only just pulled from a going 240z here in Auckland.

yeh i know about the head differences. im going to build this into something than is more suited to the track than the road.

are you talking about mikeys 240z L24? thats now getting the V6. I have spoken with him about it and he said he might sell it but this was when he was first thinking of putting the V6 in. I must contact him again and see if he wants to part with it but last time he was some what reluctant.

I have a L20 that I am about to part out. The con rods are sold. I suspect the block may be the same as a L24, just the stroke shorter. Cheers Andrew

The L20 has a different bore and stroke to what im after sorry and is not the same as a L24.

The L26 block would work. Would just need to obtain a L24 crank then and id be away. How much we talking and condition?
