Cheers dude,darrenwilson wrote:Great.
Feels great having something to post/update even though I'm not in the same country as my Datsun haha For those that aren't aware, I'm looking for an A15 engine dipstick. Vaughan (classicdat) has advised he has an A14 dipstick which I can try when I'm back in town next month, but the real deal is also appreciated
Hopefully when I'm back I can also look into tending to my suspension. I'm advised the rear is getting a bit tired, and I don't think it's been looked at since manufacture

Re: Braasy's Datsun 1200 (B110) 4 Door Sedan
Hey all,
Current update is that my boot area is all tidied up and hopefully rust free for a while It's bugged me for the longest time, and now it looks so nice! One of the first things I got started doing on the car originally was fixing some small rust holes under the rubber surrounding the boot. The boot area wasn't that nice looking to begin with, but over time with water collecting if got worse (and rusty). Anyway, all spick and span now. This is pretty much the last of the stuff on my list of things to do for now (other than giving my scuttle panels a quick tidy up). At some stage I look forward to treating the surface rust that has gathered in the lips above the doors (and some other spots around the car) before I look to getting the car stripped and painted...
Image update as follows:
Really miss driving the old girl, but looking forward to a fun filled week when Ruth and I are back in Christchurch next month! First time the old Datto will get to Akaroa in the last couple of years (first year car was in unknown condition, and last year I didn't quite get her back up and running in time after the 5 speed and A15 rebuild/upgrade)

Re: Braasy's Datsun 1200 (B110) 4 Door Sedan
Hell all,
So, while I'm in town next month I am hoping to upgrade the suspension all round on the 1200. Am interested in any suggestions in brand and any feedback anyone may have. At the moment I am looking into pricing on KYB and Koni's (considered Monroe's but general consensus so far was not favourable), but do let us know any other options I should take into consideration (include approximate pricing if you can). Cheers.

Re: Braasy's Datsun 1200 (B110) 4 Door Sedan
I know, right?! I'm loathed to have to put the crap back in there which was in there initially haha... Hopefully now I can install the replacement boot rubbers I purchased about a year agoBartman wrote:That boot compartment looks sooo clean! you could eat your dinner off it!
Oh, by the way Bart, did you have any spare S13 brake adapter plates still available? You may remember I managed to pick up some S13 hubs and callipers a while ago for a front brake upgrade. While I'm back, I may be able to get them installed finally, so let me know. Otherwise, anyone else aware of any other 1200 brake upgrade options out there?

I need to get some more sets laser cut. It's been on my to do list for too too long. Given how cheap my new guy does my cutting for, I should just pull finger and get on with that shit.
