Hey dude, just a tip, I have personally seen this happen
if the 90 deg hose is old and had those factory clamps on (frget the name the spring style clamp that you remove with pliers) and the hose was previously dented where the clamp was. If you dont put the clamp in the exact same spot in the dent (or in your case replace with hose clamps) they leak. EVERYTIME. Its because the hose has gone hard and the replacement clamp/new position cant distort the hose to seal it. Put it in the same position and the leak stops!
If your replacing the hose you will be fine, but something to keep in mind for installation next time

Re: James 85 300zx Danger to the Manifold
Nick, I think it was exactly what you said, because it looks like some coolant and sprayed around almost like a mist and ended up in the most random places
I am replacing the pipe, its pretty difficult to get to so its 100% getting replaced now.
I built this engine quite a few years ago, I have learned so much since then about things like this.
I am still going to sand blast all the hard pipes, i am still suspecting perhaps a pin hold leak in one of them

that not good too see after you had car out over weekend.i am wreaking that vg out of the cedric if you need another steel pipe or housing.was good meeting up with ya
Re: James 85 300zx Danger to the Manifold
What inlet manifold does the cedric have?
"It's ok, we know what to do...we talked about this a lot on the internet."

Re: James 85 300zx Danger to the Manifold
the old Z lives again, with all new cooling system gaskets, new T stat 90deg hose and another round of fresh antifreeze.
Been for a drive and No leaks to report. I think its finally solved.

Re: James 85 300zx
Well after all the useless posting i have done in my build thread i now have some more "built progress" for it
These are the "nearly" equal length manifolds that i knocked up many years ago, Had them Tig welded and fitted up here is how they came out...
They are not super maximum effort spend $1000's of dollars manufolds, but like most things i do they will get the job done a lot better than the factory item.
Next up is 2 into 1 merge pipe behind the Block, and then bring a single pipe out to the turbo flange in the factory position.
They should be near as equal length as possible and flow really well, I'm hoping to drop manifold pressure below boost pressure. Currently manifold pressure is about 5psi higher than boost which is not ideal.

Looks good man, have you seen those guys in the State using eBay stainless manifolds off some other V6 flipped so they face forwards? I can't find a picture right now but I'll have another look tomorrow.

Yeah some Americans go to extreme lengths to avoid making something or doing something "different"
they probably use a VQ or VG30DETT header as the port spacing and bolt spacing is almost bolt up
this is how it fits up on a block & the Drivers side missing the brake master by hugging the rocker cover
and this was my Initial CAD design ( 20 hours plus to get the primarys as close to equal as possible )
