First time in a long time, there are no Datsuns on my property!
so there is some room in the garage for assembling my new motor, so I got my mate to drop it off tonight
I got out the verniers, and had a measure up and a calc, and due to my 25.5cc Combustion chambers I will have 9.6:1 compression, so am going to give the head another skim, as I really want 10.5 C/R. My mate only had 18cc combustion chambers so ended up with 11.0:1 C/R.
The motor is A15 block, with A14 crank, has 78mm flat top pistons (Mazda flat tops, with valve pockets cut), balanced bottom end assembly, Toyota solid push rods, kelford cam etc.
should be a wee screamer I hope when it is all put together, and tuning sorted

Re: Kitchs 1200 Coupe - "ITB's starting to sing :)"
Final body work well underway!
Engine bay being primed tomorrow, body being primed later in week.
Then another final file and fill, and another full prime
Should have some colour in engine bay late next week all going well

Went out to my mates tonight.
car is fully primed! but I wasnt allowed in the booth to view
I was pining to get in there.......
Got a few problems trying to get resene codes matchs to the original red paint....
If anyone has any ideas that may help, let me know ASAP, as need to order paint in for Monday.
it is 1971 model red, which by my research is "Sun-bright Red" colour #932
its quite a dirty red, not an orangey red.

Don't use Resene, use PPG paint. Up here I went through Paint n Paper Superstore.
PPG had the correct Datsun codes when I got my paint. They were the only ones that gave a toss.

No further luck on colour matching.
we going to try to get a test pot in PPG paint on monday, as I managed to find the code for PPG.
body looking good, although Hadlee spent yesterday afternoon and this morning reshaping rear
right guard as he was not 100% happy with the body lines.
engine bay is ready for top coat, body to get one more block back and final prime, but looking real close
