Does it run a booster? A leaking brake booster can lead to a missfire.
Another thing I've seen is the small vacuum hose off the front runner of the inlet manifold. That normally attaches to the wee bi-metalic valve in the factory air cleaner. If that hose isn't properly blocked, (Since you've eliminated the factory air cleaner) number one cylinder will miss.
Start by pulling the plug wires one at a time, to see which cylinder isn't firing. Then check the spark plug, lead, and do a compression test on that cylinder.
They don't call me the man with the rubber arm for nothing you know.............

Just scored my first full time job! roofing (: so now will have $$ to pour into the datto which will keep her happy..

It was time for the a12 to come out, couldn't be arsed with fixing the missing problem and i have x2 a12 motors and a a15
Image

Ended up going with a a15 motor at my dads work, had been sitting for a few years, did a few checks seemed ok,put a carby kit thru it new clutch n pressure plate new fluids and oils etc..
put her in the other day and she blew blue smoke and had a knock so it was a waste of time really, now back to the drawing board for me, Still drives fine though, may just run the a15 till she goes then whilst its in there rebuild the a12 and wack that back in after not sure yet,

Also scored me a JAF badge and Brought some Chrome fender mirrors just waiting for arrival :)

Was thinking about painting the centers of the minilites black and leaving the chrome lip? thoughts? would suit the black to chrome ratio on the car i believe, quick question though, whats the best way to go about painting wheels? i want a nice good job but dont want to spend too much..

Do it. Will look nice with black centers and the more time you put into prepping and painting the better they will turn out.
