Engine upgrades for 120y

Post by damz721 »

Hey fellas, me and my dad are looking at putting a recon engine into my b210 wagon.

I'm running a standard a12 atm

Have a a15 c20 Bluetop motor

Also have a 89 C22 a15 black top motor

Which would be best to recon and if so what are some good modifications i can do?

Need some ideas.

Cheers, Damz

I think the later motors with the black rocker cover have a shit inlet manifold design. also, Van motors have a crappy cam profile. So If you're goign to rebuild your engine, you might as well get a bit of hot grind for it.
They don't call me the man with the rubber arm for nothing you know.............

I run a black A15 with 4 speed in my 120y wagon. Changed inlet and exhaust with other A15 setup which is easy and loses all the emission stuff if you have it. The exhaust will be different as will be a 3 bolt flange so try get it with the engine. Done all this in a night and then did a round trip from Wellington to Gisbourne the next day. Also adjust your secondaries to come in earlier (bend the rod) as this made a huge difference in power as well.
I think the A12 flywheels are lighter but couldnt be arsed pulling it off.

Do ittttttttt
