I did, I shut and cut a altezza 6 speed behind an sr20ve. I cut up the sr bell housing too and moved the starter motor bulge higher to match the higher starter motor position on the fwd block and re drilled holes to match. Swap the RWD sump onto the fwd block then all the passenger side bolt holes line up as well as all the holes along the bottom, which leaves the 2 starter motor bolt holes to be repositioned and the top bolt on the Drivers side.
Mine looks pretty frankenstein but it works and all holes bolt up.
Peolple Do bolt the FWD blocks up as per what I said but just grind but the bellhousing material that fowls with the starter motor and then just drill the holes that dont line up and add crush tubes. Less work than moving the starter, however the little buldge on the bell housing for the starter obviously wont line up if you do it the latter way.
Also there is no passenger size engine mount bracker holes as but there is holes you can pick up on to fabricate a mount. The Drivers side one bolts up as per normal

I'll agree anything can be done and i love to see things done differently but unless you are doing this to a VE engine. (ive played alot with these) then i would use a RWD engine i know FWD motors are cheaper but not after the time and effort you would need to put into it.

Even then if you are going to use a VE engine use a RWD SR20DET block (has oil squirters which you don't really need so just use a DE block for a 5th of the price) and swap every thing over into it from the VE engine and run and external oil feed. All other problems you have like dizzy position hitting fire wall and manifold etc will still be there but you would encounter these anyway.

Just my opinion unless your good at fabrication then id prob put a bit more research in first.

Yea it's a sr16ve.
I've already built a rwd sr20vet for my silvia and was planing on using my spare engine for Datsun but I'd rather have it for a spare and if I blow the 16ve I won't have to build another engine I can just bolt a new one in

The return will be right next to the fuel pressure regulator,

I do see the point of being able to quickly pick up a new complete VE engine and drop it in. They are really good engines out of the box.
Just putting the finishing touches to my VE head swap on my Autech P11 Primera 4WD wagon.
