ok so i have bought me a 1983 datsun 1200 ute gb120.
it dont get here for a week but im excited anyway.

it will be my daily weather permitting and transport for my bike to ruapuna.

plans for it are to slightly lower to improve handling
put my equips on it
put an a15 in
fit a setup similar to damons for the distractions
drive it everywhere with my coolness factor high?


currently running an a12 with a 5spd dogleg
cobra metallic green (reccuring theme much?)
extractors
after-marke­t radiator with electric fan.

have sorted a spare UNKNOWN 5spd (rebuilt)
have sorted an a15 running slightly bigger pistons and a torquer? cam (rebuilt)

Super jealous about having a daily driver Datsun (ours in a Nissan Cube haha).

You going to drive it for a bit before doing any work on it? Or wham that A15 and lowering kit straight in?

Plans are to just drive it at the moment lol, the lowering and engine swap will be done later on down the track as I don't want a repeat of the Coupe.

When I test out how hard it is to get a bike on I'll look into lowering the rear a bit if too difficult for me.

Again its all speculation at this point as it only gets picked up from Wanganui tomorrow morning before getting transportationed down to datsun capital. Fingers crossed though!! Have sorted lowering blocks already but will only fit if needed I'm picking.

trademe pics till i can source an expletive lock nut key as the previous owner forgot to give it to me! (the key,nothing else). that way my equips and maybe lowering blocks can be in for the starting show.

the previous owner also failed to mention his love of little skulls, door locks, key ring, valve caps, its outrageous!!!

having said that......one added feature to this datsun is.....get this...... a lever that flips your rear number plate so you cant get pinged through red lights or otherwise (back only).
