Re: Garth's SR20 B110
Looking for some spacers to try make my wheels fit with my brakes , just needing two as its only my front wheels that dont fit, 10mm would probably be what is required...either some cheap or ones i can borrow until i can find some money for new ones
Re: Garth's SR20 B110
Got a text from Bart yesterday telling me off for not updating by thread so thought i better get on here and mention the tiny amount i have left to go but am too lazy/busy to get done.
As some of you saw it managed to make it to the park up for the rakaia cruize but things are still a bit to dodge to make it any further.
unfortunately I am in love with the wheels that are on the car and that is what is slowing me down at the moment....to make the s13 brake upgrade work with those wheels I have to use spacers...and those wheels do not have slots in the back of them to fit on top of the bolt on spacers...will get photos tonight to show you what i mean. (not sure if I can get the wheels modified to work with this)
other then brakes I just need my lower sway bar modified and then im pretty sorted...
anyway here is some pics to keep ya happy in the mean time

your doing the right thing, those wheels are friggin cool
Re: Garth's SR20 B110
small update...brakes are all now mounted and bled up and i can stop...
however I currently am using my spacers without the studs (technically using them as slip on spacers atm). will post the photos to show my pickle...

Re: Garth's SR20 B110
So what i need to find out is if I can get my wheels machined to fit over these nuts on the spacer...
the one thing that annoys me about all this is that in my mind the way you have to have it to get cert seems less safe then using a slip on spacer..
surely having just one set of wheels studs with the studs though the spacer and then the wheel bolted up is stronger then having wheel studs bolted to the spacer and then another set of studs bolted to the wheel?
but mehhh thats just my opinion...

Re: Garth's SR20 B110
When i got my spacers they where designed in such a way that the nut and that sat flush with the out side of the spacer so you could run them with any wheels. Try chris at mag and turbo and see if they have smaller nuts?

Re: Garth's SR20 B110
the nuts that hold the spacer to the hub need to be counter sunk into the spacer so you have a flat mounting point for the wheel
Re: Garth's SR20 B110
Meant to be using small keeper nuts, and cut the remaining thread off so your wheel sits flush.
We dont sell them - Vaughan Motors in Timaru are your best shot.
To make them legal for cert, your wheels also need to hubcentric and the spacers need to be also. You'll need to measure the ID Of your wheel and OD of the spacer. Id of the spacer and OD of your hub, so effectively you'll have two sets of Centerbore Locating Rings
