no oil preasure in my rebuilt a15? any one got any pointers?

Post by Dirty D »

hey guys. just recently rebuilt my a15 engine and now that its altogether and ready to go i cant get any oil preasure up. it has a brand new oil pump which i primed before i put it in , i also put a tube in the oil pick up and sucked on it to make sure the pick up was working . if you think of any thing that i could use to assist me in this situation it would be much appreciated!! . cheers

How are you checking for pressure? Mechanical gauge?

That's curious.
I had a really knacker A15 once that had no pressure. But I filled it with lucas/mooreys and it came up really quick.
You haven't done something silly like put standard bearing shells on a reground crank have you?
They don't call me the man with the rubber arm for nothing you know.............

This doesn't sound like a switch or gauge problem. Sounds like pump isn't supplying, could be air leak in oil pick up, (or not attached), or a fault in the pump, although with the switch being right on the pump even with a faulty relief valve you would expect some oil at the switch.
