Have just won a 5 speed of trademe pretty stoked
http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-par ... 342851.htm
So will need to get d/shaft shortened and balanced, any good suggestions for a place to do this? prefer marl/nelson area
Fixed exhaust leaks up and fitted a new tip
Also got this datsun gear-knob off ebay
New tailight lenses (not to self dont buy taiwanese crap again ha ha)
Datsun sticker also, missing a nz datsun club one though
Have decided to leave panel and paint until i've finished most of the car so i dont damage the paintwork etc.

You can replace the seal/gland at the top of the strut, refill with heavier oil and fit a bush to the strut to give you better dampening and captive springs without all the machining of fitting new inserts and modifying them.

Had a day off today and my badge turned up so decided to give the grill a paint..
Before:
After:
Not to sure if i got the right colour but looks better than before also doesn't really match the front lip but i will be painting that the same colour as the car so won't mater
5spd going in this weekend and as it seems i will not need to shorten/lengthen my driveshaft as both gearboxs measure up the same so should be just a bolt in job

Sorry man, I thin you will find the mounts are further back, mine certainly were, so just a heads-up to be prepared to be doing a bit of engineering on the mount.
Grill looks real shiny well done. Back in the day we all seemed to paint them black, interesting to see it going a more original colour, will be keen to see it with the rest of the car painted.

can most definatly tell you mount is furtherback be keen to know whether yours leaks at the drive shaft yoke into the box. my 120y does and cant figure why. Gearbox been recond and new rear seal so be intersted to know what yours does.

I'd say your leak could be from wear in the rear tail housing bushing.jrods210 wrote:can most definatly tell you mount is furtherback be keen to know whether yours leaks at the drive shaft yoke into the box. my 120y does and cant figure why.
