R31 front struts

Post by Jani »

Hi,
Have anyone extra R31 import front struts lying? Struts, where brake caliber mounting bolt ears space are 100mm. I only need the struts and wheel hubs, i don´t need springs or caliber. How difficult they are to find?

There are other options like z31 which we're putting in my wife's 140j.
Does require some mods tho

With the Z31 struts could you do a bump steer spacer that fixed the bottom bolt space issue?
Maybe out of steel with studs coming out and a nut of top the the other spacing for it to bolt up like normal?

I don't think it'd work that well as the bolt spacing isn't that different so there's not much space.
We are just using z31 steering knuckles

Yea saw what you were doing.
I looked at it along time ago as i had some Y31 front struts that are the same setup as a Z31.

Ive got a set of r31 front struts & brakes in my b310 atm i was running them when i had the z18et in my car but as ive decided to go back to standard id like to get a set of standard struts/breaks to put back in my car the r31 struts have been modified they have new shorter inserts and the spring perch has been choped off and the standard b310 perch has been welded in its place and they have cut cobra lows and standard b310 top hats the springs are very captive and it sits at a nice height,im not really sure what there worth i bought and modified them about 4 years ago if your interested let me know id mainly be kean on a swap for some standard b310 struts

Does it have the 100mm bolt spacing for the calliper mounts?

just checked it was a bit hard as there still in car and didnt want to take wheel off they measure 90mm roughly from middle of bolt to middle of bolt,if it helps they run a big single pot caliper, only thing i havnt done is made a sheer load spacer to adapt them to the b310 steering knuckle but ive never had a problem with it they still bolt in nice and tight
