yes, Central is a great option. It might be prudent not to travel so far that anyone who isn't able to/wanting to can come along on the cruise for just the day. But, thatwould really put around a 2 1/2 hour driving limit on where we could go.

Geraldine or fairlie if not wanting to go to far. Or pleasant point (steam train). Road between geraldine and fairlie is pretty good if I remember rightly.

yeh the road from geraldine to fairlie is pretty sweet. not alot in fairlie tho, but the road carrys on to tekapo.

I thought it would be quite cool to rock out to the castle hill rocks up the arthurs pass with a barbie and some piss. The area round there is pretty cool, fun to climb round on. Would be more of a summer cruise though i'd say, gets nice and sunny up there

looking back at the post of barts that i quoted, he says we need something between akaroa and xmas. from what im getting from a few people, they are keen for something between now and akaroa.

just to clear up everything, what is everyone concencus with roughly when we want this?

I reckon a cruise between now in akaroa down south as its nice and some waht accesisble in the winter and then defientley keen on a day cruise across to the coast or thru to arthurs pass after the akaroa cruise as its pretty treacherous during the winter

yea coast would be algood i never even been over there but yea hear the weather can make driving pritty treachorus thru the passes
