Hey Team. i put another CA18det in my coupe and it didn't have any compression, so I whipped the head off and it was a mega blown headgasket. So I changed the headgasket to a crappy permaseal one and some new headbolts. Started it up and got it running nicely, and then I noticed a big puddle of oil under the engine.. It has a mega leak between the head and block on the exhaust side..
Anyway, Do I need new headbolts again? or will my 5min old ones do the job?

There's nothing wrong with Permaseal gaskets. If they are torque to yield bolts you will need to replace them.

Re: Reusing CA18DET headbolts?
head bolts are usually a 1 use item. i have reused head bolts before, but it is a bit of a risk. in a perfect world, you would replace the bolts with studs, which can be reused. as for the leak, it may pay to have the head skimmed a tad just to make sure its 100% its completely flat
