Re: wtd. datsun 1600
It is, I think he sold it for $10k. It was on there for ages for $12k (like 6+ months). I had already spent all my money on mine at that point and wished I could have just shelled out for that one as all the work that was done looked extremely tidy. I think he is/was an auto electrician?datsunboy wrote:Looks like Mike's old one from Wellington?

on a side note. found a "stored for 12 years" car today, and going to look at at it on the weekend.
apparently has a reg cook engine with sidies, 5 speed and rev counter dash too. should be interesting...
Re: wtd. datsun 1600
At the risk of sounding like an arrogant jerk
1. It's so far from being a SSS it's not even funny
2. Dat intercooler
3. Indicators and sidelights crowded as due to #2
4. It's been through several sets of hands without ever getting on the road in the last few years, despite being apparently almost finished, which has to make you wonder...
5. Where's the rest of it? (eyebrows etc)
6. $20k?

That car has actually been stored undercover for the last 16 years, it was only just put outside, i went and had a look it on tuesday and in my opinion its not past restoriation, front gaurds and bonnet are past it thougingofthesouth wrote:Lol, I would never consider it even if I had the funds to do it. It is likely to have been sitting in the paddock most if not all the 17 years since its rego was last live...oldskooldat wrote:if i had the funds to restore a car in that state i would consider it. cheers tho

Any car can be restored from complete death but would it be viable?Lang2 wrote:That car has actually been stored undercover for the last 16 years, it was only just put outside, i went and had a look it on tuesday and in my opinion its not past restoriation, front gaurds and bonnet are past it thougingofthesouth wrote:Lol, I would never consider it even if I had the funds to do it. Rear quarters, sills completely gone. boot, boot valance(?) roof, front valance all need rust or decent panel work and most the bolt on panels are gone. Looking as the pictures you can see all the hidden bits either. No way would this be viable.
