yuck, jt vs seems to be right, hope you are right about the third one or we might start calling this car Christine. As someone who tends to neglect his Datsuns, may I suggest you have made your car soft, particularly in the IRS with all the attention you lavish on it.
Just yesterday my daughter commented, "all these cars and which ones never let us down", as we head out in the 1200 and Jill drives the Zed, with the Holden sitting with a blown trans and the Honda is unavailable.

Oh well, found a complete set of mint feeling bearings at the old mans place.
After looking at the arms from my parts car it would seem that i never swapped over the spacer tubes probably because i was excited about cert and it never occurred to me that they were missing. So all the diff swapping appears to been 100% pointless because it was another problem entirely.
Feel like such a nob as all this wasted time and missed cruises has been my own doing.
Huge Credit to Brock who got me thinking about all of this and prompted me to investigate further.
One of these days im going to take up stamp collecting and not think about Datsuns ever again.

So you were missing the tapered spacers in between the bearings?

Bummer, those bearings would have been all over the place. The spacers come in a couple of different lengths, if the Z31s are the same as the S130s there should be a letter stamped on the control arm which tells you which spacer to fit.
