then i would hazard a guess that its a H165. they are ok diffs, just dont go doing too man clutch dumps. as for bolt in upgrades, they are pretty thin on the ground. best bet would be either a H190 from a vanette or a hiulux diff swap. both of which would most likely need to be narrowed to suit

Odds are it'd be an H165.
These diffs aren't unbreakable, but they are pretty bloody strong. I've abused the shit out of mine behind a supercharged A15 for years on end, and (touch wood) it's not broken yet.
I recently read that the diff from a 620 ute is a happier width for narrower cars. But the axles require the PCD remachining. These are an H190 btw. However tall gears for them are harder to come by, and lsd's are also hot property.
What powerplant are you running? If you're sticking with your sss L series motor, I'd stick with the H165. Just hunt for a spare head. So if it ever does let go, you can just swap it over then.
They don't call me the man with the rubber arm for nothing you know.............

H175

My PA10 had a 175 mm diff with original cone type LSD, after destroying the lsd i could not find any replacement with that size, tho the axles from a vanette diff were identical but diff head was smaller. It was a strong diff but I regret not rebuilding it before I put the SR20 in front of it. But mine is a Violet spec Sedan so it could be different again

Also to note the Aussie version "Stanza" has a borg warner diff (LSD if SSS) of smaller size
