crazy lights

ok so after a real long time geeting my girl sorted for a wof did a quick check on my lights and something crazy has happened to them whenever I brake the rear indicators light up and not the brake lights. when the head lights are going the rear indicators work in reverse ie whene indicating left the front left indicator flashes and the rear right indicator flashes. the car was recently repainted and the lights were out of the car then. every thing looks to be in order but logic leaves me to believe the lights can't have been reinstalled correctly unless anybody else has any ideas

sounds like the earth wire is not earthing somewhere, probably on the rear

Yea earth and fuses I had one do crazy whiz cos a fuse had gone awol

found the Colbert earth in the boot. cheers for the help guys
