have you used that gearbox before? assuming not as you probably procured it for the conversion,
is their a possibility the output shaft of the gearbox has a ding on the spline or wear mark or
corrosion half way along? if so you may need to remove the rear cup seal, & inspect (hope you aint got oil in it yet)

Nah I havnt used it.
I had the seal of for a nosey but you cant really see very far along the shaft...IM guessing/hoping its just a bit shitty from sitting. Still has no oil so will have another look when Im next under there.

Turns out Im just a sissy and it needed a bit more lube.....
So yeh, got driveshaft in, finished up gearbox xmember adaptor thingys (just need to get two more bolts then will spray it all in underseal, factory right?). Had to trim most of the rear gbox seal cup thingy (just the metal bit) as the dshaft was hitting it. Plenty of room for movement now.
So yeh its all bolted back together underneath the car.
Still to do
sort out throttle cable (think il just go custom to save fucking about)[/*]
wait for exhaust to arrive, hopefully tomorrow, chuck that on, get it welded to rest of exhaust[/*]
fill up fluid
think thats it!

Although birdflu can get genuine new rear seals, I'd say look to see if you can get two standard type oil seals in your housing instead.

Re: Beaver's 120y coupe
The seal is a new one from Scott. When we were removing the old one we cracked the housing at the top of the seal so I'm thinking its not as tight as it should be. Will test my theory with a hose clamp
