1200 coilovers to suit oem 45mm? strut. aaannndddd rubber se

Post by luke »

As described, if I'm going for cert I'll need some, or at the least borrow some so I can get cert at the ride hieght I desire.

So does anyone know of decent quality cheap coiloer setups? Or is somebody in about 10 weeks mind if I borrow their struts?

And rubbers. I have the old ones but I'd rather go new depending on price? I hear Scott's old auto rubber is good? Or is there a nz place that can do it? Need most all rubbers, however not the quarter door window seals as they can wait.

Help!

you can get them from otomoto (in aussie), same as what kitch used. They sell sleeve and spring kits for 45mm OD strut (same as 120y hence me knowing this haha) and then there are a few places which sell camber plates for 1200s (or just get s13 ones and make them fit). or Im sure you could make it work with factory top hats.

I was going to get some through Evan Pittman from Speedfactor in Tauranga but finances decided elsewise.
This was a rough quote for finished 45mm coilover kit.
I will eventually do this (cough cough)

An email reply from him
Hi.
The shocks from the black struts if are in good condition look to be short enough.
Threaded collars, springs and keep springs and top alloy locator hats. $320 pr
To cut, shorten the struts to utilise you shock inserts from black struts, weld prep and paint $390. There is a bit of time in removing the section to utilise the factory top thread and nut as this is what holds the inserts in place.
We have to carry out a crack test report for LTSA requirements. This is for a load carrying weld which is the for the spring perch. This is $110
Finished coilovers will look pretty like picture attached.

Let me know if you have any questions
