Yeah Greg - lets hope so.
You, like a few others on here understand the effort it takes to build a car, man it is hard @ times, and a few times along the way you think about walking away..... but like you I am on the home straight now! so just need to stop procrastinating and just get it sorted.
Lets hope we can exchange youtube links in a couple of days

Re: Kitchs 1200 Coupe
Mixed results today....
Got my new heater valve & reducer pipe filled, and tightened all the hose clips, and filled radiator.
Fitted my techno racing wheels and dropped car onto ground for the first time in 2013!
Fitted new gearbox output seal, and went to fit drive shaft... too long by 50mm....
Spent an age trying to get crank speed signal sorted, eventually got it sorted, so spark
followed soon after.
Connected up injectors, and tried to fire it up, played around with
a few settings trying to get it running, would fire but not really run properly, unsure if
it has issues with ignition timing, over fueling or what..... did not get too far before
the battery went flat. when it ran, it did not make any strange noises, and ran
pretty smooth this is first time for this motor & ecu driven spark
once battery charged I might try again and throw the timing light
on just to ensure it is not ignition, and probably just fuel setting like injector time,
or after start enrichnment or the likes.
I will give myself a pass mark and open a beer anyway :

Re: Kitchs 1200 Coupe
Running rich still, but not a bad effort in my lunch break!!!

Fumey as though, as getting some heat into the flows, is causing the heat wrap to smoke something wicked...
Was idling at about 11.8-12.0 AFR @ elevated rpm (about 1500rpm) think should be 13.0 +/- @ idle

Re: Kitchs 1200 Coupe - Got me some idle!!!!
idle you can lean out way more than 13:1. under load conditions on a motor like yours you are aiming for about 12.5 so 13 is way to rich for idle, should be more like 15:1 at idle

Re: Kitchs 1200 Coupe - Got me some idle!!!!
Cheers Nick. yeah been looking at that.
After a play tonight I need to do some work on my spark advance table, as when I swapped from fixed advance to controlling, it started a lot easier and felt a lot more responsive. however it was idling @ 2,500 rpm with 37° advance and would creep up even higher!.... but I have noticed that my MAP sensor might be playing up too, which will be mucking up all my fuel tables no doubt....
I want to get engine starting and running nicely up to 'warm' temp, then I can tune the A/F @ normal operating temperature @ idle.
this elminates all the necessity to have correct settings for cranking pulse width, afterstart enrichment & warm up enrichment multipliers, as these are bascially all either timed out or on 100% multipliers at that point. A case of eliminating things so I can single out one issue at a time to deal with.

Re: Kitchs 1200 Coupe - Got me some idle!!!!
Stripped off all inlet system ,realigned manifolds to head, altered fuel rail mounts,
Reset all throttle stops. screwed shut throttle body bleed bypasses.
reassembled, adjusted balancers, added extra tension to throttle return springs,
tightened/ adjusted throttle cable.
Nett Result:

Fukn stoked.....
Now its tuning time!!!
